Vienna and Baden

There are several things to do in Vienna: you can go shopping to Maria Hillfer strasse, spend a day in the Prater Amusement Park (don't miss the Big Wheel) visit the St. Stephan's Cathedral and the Schönbrun Castle or simply taste the lovely hot wine...

However all we wanted Saturday night was to spend a special night out and hit the Jackpot in the Grand Casino, Baden. :) It is not hard to guess what happened next: we played all our money. Nor the armbandit, neither the rulett helped. (It seemed to be nearly impossible to predict where the ball would land...) We really had a great time and enjoyed it a lot but I still can't get over why I didn't play my lucky number???

The Leopold Museum

Edward Munch: The scream

To do something 'useful' we visited the Leopold Museum at te Museum Qarteer on Sunday to see the exhibition called 'Edvard Munch and the Uncanny'.The exhibition contains works ranging from the late 18th century (Piranesi, Goya's Caprichos) up to the early 20th century. It costs just 10 Euros and there is a discount available for students under 28. The collection is well hung, with lots of space to see things properly. All of the signs are in English as well as German and I saw some hungarian people walking around! :) There are several other exhibitions during the year so it is always worth to go there.
